°R = (°C + 273.15) × 1.8Rankine is a non-SI absolute temperature scale whose degree is the same size as a Fahrenheit degree. Converting from Celsius therefore requires both moving the zero point to absolute zero and scaling each Celsius interval by 1.8. The scale appears in some US engineering and thermodynamics references. Celsius inputs below −273.15°C would produce negative Rankine values and are outside the ordinary thermodynamic temperature scale.
