Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

Overview

Convert Calc ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights and choices.

Our cookie banner controls analytics cookies. Accepting them does not allow advertising cookies or personalized ads. If you decline, Google Analytics may still receive cookieless measurement signals.

*AdSense is pending approval and not yet active.

Your Consent & Choices

On your first visit, we show a cookie banner at the bottom of the page. You can:

  • Accept: allow analytics cookies so we can measure site usage.
  • Decline: turn analytics cookies off. Google Analytics may still receive cookieless measurement signals. The site works the same.
  • Change your mind: use the Cookie settings button at the bottom of any page to bring the banner back.

We remember Accept or Decline for 6 months in localStorage (not a cookie), if your browser allows it. After that, or if you clear it, we ask again. If your browser blocks storage, we can't remember a Decline, so you need to decline on each page.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as Decline unless you click Accept.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We set the default by region. In the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, Quebec and a few related territories, analytics cookies stay off until you click Accept, and Google Analytics may send cookieless measurement signals before you choose. Everywhere else, analytics cookies start on and Decline turns them off. Google works out your country from your IP address. We keep Google signals and advertising features off in Google Analytics. GA4 measures:

  • Page views and navigation patterns
  • Device type, operating system, browser
  • Approximate location (country/region, not precise)
  • Conversion events (unit conversions, searches, copy actions)
  • Session duration and bounce rate

Data is anonymised — we cannot identify you personally. Google Analytics stores data per Google's privacy policy.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

Convert Calc displays advertisements via Google AdSense. This service is currently pending approval.

When AdSense is live, it may set cookies for personalised ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google's Ad Settings.

Your Rights (GDPR & PIPEDA)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under the GDPR:

  • Right of access — Request what personal data we hold about you
  • Right of rectification — Correct inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — Request deletion (within legal constraints)
  • Right to object — Opt out of analytics or marketing
  • Right to data portability — Export your data in a portable format

If you are in Canada, your rights are governed by PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act). You have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of personal information we hold.

For any privacy requests, contact us.

Data Retention

Google Analytics 4 retains data per its standard retention policy (typically 14 months for free GA4 accounts, configurable in GA4 admin). AdSense data follows Google's retention schedule. We store your cookie choice in your browser for 6 months, then ask again.
